Comrade Woody2024-01-18I recently contacted RH Moss & Co when a blocked macerator caused waste to back up into both my bath and toilet. This wouldn’t be pleasant for anybody, but I suffer from severe OCD which centres around thoughts of contamination, so for me it was one of the worst things that could have happened. I am housebound and just having people in the property causes me significant distress and requires a lot of preparation beforehand and cleaning afterwards. Although unable to attend immediately, Dan spoke with me via SMS to get an idea of the problem and then put my mind at ease that the situation would at least not get any worse. I told Dan about my OCD. He was sympathetic and understanding and offered to help in any way he could, saying he wished he was able to help sooner. We initially spoke on Tuesday evening and he was able to get to me on Thursday morning. He messaged me when he was on his way to provide an ETA, and he arrived exactly when he said he would. Dan was polite and friendly. He knew I was very anxious about the whole situation, and did his best to put me at ease. When I led him to the staircase which looked like a kill room from Dexter due to all the plastic sheeting and floor covering, he took it completely in his stride, complimenting me on the job and requesting only that I not murder him. Throughout the job Dan made sure to let me know what was being done and made a point to swap gloves and use antibacterial gel regularly to ensure that everything remained as clean as possible. Whenever he needed to access something he made sure to ask how best to do so to avoid triggering my OCD. Overall he was extremely understanding and conscientious. As far as the work itself went, he came across as very knowledgeable and capable. He identified and rectified the issue quickly, and left the bathroom in a much better state than he had found it, for which I am extremely grateful. The price was very reasonable, especially given the nature of the job, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend RH Moss to friends and family. The past few days have been incredibly difficult for me, and I really can’t thank Dan enough for making things as painless as possible for me. I don’t think I could have asked for more.
